My daughter wants to upgrade from her point and shoot to a camera like daddy! I thought the 20D would be a great body for her learn on. Plus they are pretty darned durable. What do you got. She is selling her camera locally to get money for her new one! thank you in advance. Cole

One thing I know from my own younger one, anything that is not cool, would only take dust in their room. Kids these day know very well what is in and what is old. I doubt she can hang to it for a long though the situation is logical. Go for something new and cool color. Pentax has many and very recently (Yesterday) Waltmart had Canon SL1 (Well suitable for delicate hands) with kit lens for $130 (That is if you could find one in your store). There are plenty of good deals among the newer camera bodies and if you don't take care of That Wow factor, all the interest in Photography can be permanently go with the wind, just because of trying to save a few pennies.

I will give another perspective. My 12 year old son loves using my 7D, but that is more money than I am comfortable spending on him right now. He recently had an opportunity to use a friends 20D with kit lens and fell in love with it. When I asked him if he would like to have one, he was very excited and jumped at the chance. It is just like yours dad, he said. So I recently bought him a 20D in very good condition. By the way, we have looked at a lot of cameras in the big box stores previously and he did not seem too excited by them. Happy Ending.
