couple insect I.D.'s?

i don't normally take a ton of insect photos, but i'm taking more this year because of my 366 project...took these today, and was wondering if anyone could help with I.D.'s...these were taken in northern california....i tried to find them on my own...but that didn't work out to well

Firrst of all, for somebody who "doesn't take a lot of" insect shots, you're pretty good at it

I am not a scientist, but I am fairly familiar with many arthropods in California and in Florida.

That said, I believe that the butterfly is a Female Fiery Skipper (Hylephila phyleus), and I believe the spider, also a female, is a Western Lynx (Oxyopes scalarus), aka: Brown Lynx.
