I ordered mine from B&H and it shipped in less than 10 days. They tell me that they get shipments in often.

Another option is Adorama. They have it in stock and can ship it immediately.

Cheers,
Bryan

Anyone tried?

As far as CPS mentioned, it will create a file in the CFast card. And don't try to delete that file.

Let us know the result. I will wait a while :)

Creating a new file that you should not delete? Sounds like a workaround rather than a proper fix.

It isn't as complicated as it sounds. I did the download and then the install. I then downloaded the Sandisk Tool they recommend to do a proper format - I did this. After you reinstalled the now Sandisk formatted card, the camera tells you the card needs formating - so you do it and all is good.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Thanks for the post. Just upgraded mine. Takes about 6-7 minutes but fairly straightforward to do if you follow the instructions.

I can't immediately think of a reason to create a file (unless there's an area of the card known to have issues, and the formatting processes deliberately writes that file to the known "bad" location). It would be interesting to see the contents of the file (i.e. is it just padding to take up space, or is it data that's used somewhere).

However, as for:

"- When opening the card slot cover, the access lamp may remain lit or blink for a longer duration.
Remove the card only after having confirmed that the access lamp is off. When the access lamp is lit or blinking, recording to the card is in progress."

That sounds to me like one of the options I suggested in an earlier post on this thread; namely that the new firmware is flushing out the card's internal cache onto its flash storage on shutdown (or when you open the card door). I could be wrong - but it would fit the evidence.

I've not had any problems since I bought the Sandisk 128gb card..don't know if I want to start messing with the 64gb card any more although it would be nice to have a backup card...

I'm brave and will give it a go when I get home,...currently traveling with a worry free mFT :)

Can't resist the temptation.
Just update the firmware.
It takes quite a while.

The different after the update: seems the red light blink couple blinks more when insert the CFast.

Any 'real shoots' power consumption info/reports? Just sitting on the couch with mine on day 1 going through the menu setting the body up I've used 20% of a fully charged bat. Can't wait to get out and use it! I have a wedding in 2 weeks and this will be my primary.
