Hey MedicineMan, quick question. I was reading back a few pages and I noticed you were considering an 8-15L. Did you ever pick one up? If so, how do you like it? I'm in the market for that lens soon because a particular business venture I've got going is going to require it. Would love your thoughts on the lens if you managed to get your hands on one.

Anthony,
I have owned the Canon 8-15 for awhile now and even though I have not used it very much, I've found it to be a great lens when I do. It's really fun from a creative standpoint, especially indoors when you have interesting surroundings. It also excels at up-close action sports. But it is a specialty-lens. Using it will definitely make one's work standout among the rest, but in my opinion it's kind of like spice in your food: when you use just the right amount, it adds great flavor...but if you use too much, then your food can start to taste weird. It's a wonderful lens to have in the bag and is a lot of fun to use.
I am about to put my 8-15L up for sale when I get home from the trip I'm on. I recently picked up the Canon 11-24L and I'm going to sell the Canon 8-15 to help justify the big purchase. (Not telling you to advertise, just sharing my move to the 11-24, which I'm very excited about BTW!)
Cheers,
Bryan
