a more down-to-Earth and tastier, more pleasantly aromatic assignment this weekend . A few from Chicago's annual Taste of Greektown .. If you're lucky enough to visit Chicago in late August , check this out .. go hungry and thirsty ..:)

I'm certainly fawning over a 1Dx2 with a 200-400, but it's just too deer.

I'll get my coat.

(But seriously, great shot)

Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent

I will be headed out in Oct. to a location where I will want to do off camera flash so today, I pulled out my two PocketWizard TT5 Flex units to practice a little. one on body, one on remote flash. NOTHING!

I put the unit on the 7D MkII and they work perfect.

I updated firmware and still nothing. I note Pocketwizard comparability web page doesn't list the 1Dx MkII.

Anyone else having the problems?

Yeah. I sold my PW tt5 and mini transceivers because of this. Wasn't going to wait for PW to take their jolly time to make it work. Used to work on the 1DX.

I ended up just buying new canon flashes instead. The 600 EX II RT and the ST3-something-something.

So rare I use flash but I have two 580 EX ii's and the
YONGNUO YN622C-KIT Wireless E-TTL Flash Trigger Kit with LED Screen for Canon including 1X YN622C-TX Controller and 1X YN622 C Transceiver
with an extra transceiver for the second flash.
Cheap and works a charm.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Buddy, woke up. Put a Yongnuo YN-622C onto the 1DXii, put a Yongnuo YN-622C onto a 580EXii. Turned all 4 units on. Pushed the
shutter and the flash fired. Went into menu of the 1DXii for Speelight control. I was in Manual on the flash. Went over to power in
the camera's flash menu, dialed down the power and watched on the 580EXii's screen as the power went down.
Now when I use the camera's menu to switch the flash from Manual to ETTL I see on the flash screen that it has gone to ETTL
BUT a box comes up on the camera menu saying the flash is off. Does not that I can tell stop the flash from going into ETTL.

Also I have not received from Amazon the Yongnuo 1X YN622C-TX Controller yet. It has shipped. Supposedly it will allow me to
dial in different power for each flash.

OK hope that helps.
