Does anyone have a link to an instruction manual pdf, canon Europe, USA and Australia are all blocking my phone for some reason and I'd like to have a look while I'm at work. Thanks in advance...

Or at least tell me where to collect the camera gear.If he jumped without a parachute I'd expect the gear to be located about 4 feet below ground level Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent

Be aware that plenty of DR at ISO 10000 would be unlikely. Every stop you increase the ISO above the camera's base will clip one stop of highlight range (i.e. each time you double the ISO you lose a stop of DR). Every stop you increase the ISO above the camera's base will clip one stop of highlight range (i.e. each time you double the ISO you lose a stop of DR). Conversely, each time you halve the ISO you theoretically will gain a stop of DR. Canon's historic read noise problems meant that you didn't get that gain as you dropped below about ISO 800 (i.e. going from 800 to 400, 400 to 200 etc. didn't get an extra stop). They look to have made great strides forward with the 80D and 1DxII in that regard, but I wouldn't expect that to have a significant affect at higher ISOs (other sources of noise come into play). It does seem that DPReview were pretty negative about the general high ISO improvements vs the 1Dx (with some data to back up their claims) but it does fly in the face of more "real world" (i.e. not test chart) shots I've seen. Yeah, if I'm being honest, I couldn't give a single flying rip what test charts say, or only how well the camera handles dynamic range, and if an image is slightly grainy at ISO 25600 when zoomed into 400%, etc etc. It's all just nitpicking at that point. I love the technical side more than most. It's neat stuff and I obsess too. But I also understand in my day to day life that stuff just doesn't really matter.

Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

digitalparadise Awaiting the title ferry... More info Post edited over 7 years ago by digital paradise. (4 edits in all) | May 05, 2016 10:08 | #282 Thought I'd try it. I don't have CC so I made adjustments in LR and then transferred to PS to sharpen using an edge sharpening method for export. I set masking to about 50 in the detail pallet and sharpening to 45. I pushed the pedal to the metal with luminance. 70 which is way higher than I ever use. Pushed the final sharpening as well. The gopher to the left is sharp. The on the right (grey one) not so much but I think it is a DOF thing. Taken with a 15mm lens. Image Editing OK
