Not sure, really. I actually think the 5D4 will be more up my alley. I suspect the same basic ISO performance, but more resolution, and same or better great AF than the 5D3. That will be the camera I go to, possibly. That would afford me the flexibility I really want, without spending a ton of cash.

I think you've made a very good point. If you're not a sports photographer, wildlife photographer, or a journalist/event photographer, then the next iteration of the 5D series will likely fit your needs perfectly. But for those who need the speed, who need the most you can wring out of a Canon sensor, and need the absolute best AF system in the world to capture critically-timed images, then the Canon 1D X Mark II is the weapon of choice for the demanding photographer.

Cheers,
Bryan

For the time being there is no 5D4, so the claim that this is the best still stands.

That said, yes the 5D3 was(is) filling that same role superbly. As much as I lust after the 1Dx2, I don't see it in my future sadly. Hopefully a 5D4 will make me as happy as the 5D3 has.

Got the body yesterday but no CFast cards in stock. You'd have thought someone would have anticipated demand!

Best camera in canons line up. EVER !!!

No Brainer. This is a body you can use for a number of years. Next stop for ISo and sensor technology is to mimic what the human eye can see. I never thought they would get it to where it is with this release.

Not gonna say they will never get it to see what my eye sees. As a digital camera user for the past 12 yrs...Im completely blown away with this update

Was not a hard decision at all

size is the one that is a downer for me

I just hope for the 5Div owners to be a larger sensor than 24mp's. Even if the supposed fps turns out
to be 7 then 36mp's is what should have been. Cropping means a lot to the wildlife/birding crowd eh?
That said the miniscule 16mp's of the 1Div has taught me that ultimately mp's don't count for a lot.
In my world the best thing I can do is just get closer and that's why there are 3 blinds set up semi-permanently
out back and a box full of camo and netting.
In this vain of thinking sometimes I think the 5Dsr would maybe make a better base for me and last time I was
at Conowingo I saw several 5Dsr's attached to 500mm and up EOS lenses.

Now back to the Xii, a dearth of CFast currently?? CF still works :)

Forgot to ask why not a single photo yet???? Many have received....

So now I know that it wasn't just the other thread. You like to inject off-topic conversations in every thread you visit. Have you ever considered discussing this in the Rumors forum where you could actually have a conversation about it?
