Can I just add - a huge 'very surprised' thumbs up to Sandisk recovery software - it may not be cheap BUT I had a water damaged card that had been formatted in error - I got back all 2000 files plus a load from last season (even though the card has been formatted multiple times!

Thanks for looking, feel free to point and laugh ;-)a

Shinty season has started. The players are getting younger and I'm getting older.

Not only do they seem younger to me they are also taller than me, I am going old and shrinking.

The camera is insane, the subject isn't anything too exciting, I guess beggars can't be chosers.

Why care if it's superseded?
I bought a 1D2n after the 1D3 was released. At the time the 1D3 was in limited supply.
The 1D2n which had been $5000 was offered with $750 cash back. The 1D3 was $5800 but would require going on a waiting list.
The 1D2n was proven. As it turned out, there were many unhappy early adopters of the 1D3.
Remove the AF problems of the 1D3 from the equation and I still had no regrets.
Years later I bought a used 1D4 knowing the 1DX would be available in a few months. No regrets with that either.

So I suppose I actually do care a lot if a body is or will be superseded soon as I get a well tested body, I don't get any nasty surprises that early adopters can experience and the price is significantly lower.

1D3 to 1D4 was one of the bigger leaps in performance and features in Canon 1 Series DSLR history. For the rest, a regular upgrade every 2nd model release is what many users choose over upgrading to every new model for not just economics but also an 'if it aint broke don't fix it' philosophy.

I buy my 1DXX about 10 months after release. The firmware is solidified and it's @$1200 off with CPS. Great deal in my opinion...

About these these photos:

Glass jellyfish made by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka, hang from a ceiling in the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University

Wikipedia states: "Over the course of their collected lives Leopold and Rudolf crafted as many as ten thousand glass marine invertebrate models in addition to the 4,400 botanical ones that are the more famous Glass Flowers."

Thank you Mike!

There is a lot of stuff that is no longer seen, like the support wires and their anchors that they hung from, sprinkler pipes, and cobwebs on the edges of the jellyfish.
I spent a lot of time on each image using a Stamp Tool, to digitally remove such items.
The skill that these men had to manipulate glass however!!

Also using a 1D X Mk II, this image is from a previous trip.
It is mind boggling that everything in this single display case and the thousands of other objects in the exhibit's collection, are made of glass.
