Nice to see somebody is crazier than I am.
Period.

Yeah, lol, Mark when i was a kid we used to prefer to ride our bicycles!

The sport of carrying them from place to place did not exist back then!

Great shots!

Jake,

As a boy, I had a "Playbike" with a sparkle "banana" seat that looked like a recycled vinyl seat from a truck stop's diner, or a bowling alley.
That was hot-stuff back then in 1960's central Massachusetts, and there were no axle pegs sold to be able stand on or anything.
Oh: some kids put playing cards on their front forks to make noise when the wheel turned.

Now, it's carbon fiber frames, titanium parts, GPS, and disc brakes.

Thanks for your compliment on the photos.
It was hard to track these riders as an amateur photographer, and while trying to stay out of their way and not be a nuisance to others.

I forgot to mention that I took close to 5,000 images (in 40 - 50℉ weather) on one, 3-year old LP-E19 battery, while having the GPS on in Mode 2,
and pretty much only using AI Servo.
I though that this was pretty good.

The cyclo-cross community is well developed and there were scores of people taking images; many that they then try to sell off of SmugMug and the like.
Thousands of images went up nearly overnight, with many linked under "Race Pictures" at this site: https://www.crossresults.com/race/9645 (external link)

Wikipedia states that cyclo-cross has been around for over 100 years.
I only heard of the sport a couple of weeks ago, and I am 61 years of age, and I ride a bicycle.

It is cool having this photography hobby because of all the things you can learn about, and then make an effort to go and see.

A woman is all smiles at the portage section:

My spouse and I climbed many parts of many hills to get to shooting locations.
My camera & two lenses weighed close to what some of theses bikes weigh, but they were RUNNING, where I was only trying not to go down hard, or getting impaled by a branch!
Still, for us, this was nasty:

An inspiration to many, including myself!!

On a cold an somewhat raw day, hot chilli and some steak & peppers quesadilla hit the spot.
Quickie photos, but I have them serving as a nice memory now:

Well, what else can you do, once you are there?
But she's doomed. Just an ordinary shirt on top, no high-tech tight cutting-through-the-air super-woman suit.
Biking is just like photography - it's all about the equipment! :-)

Hey

wheres the complimentary duck shot with the new body ?

.. been working 'till 10:00pm or later all this week. I do however have my first weekend off in weeks coming up, so hopefully then. This show opening was so hard, i never got to use it for photos of the rehearsals,. was too busy backstage.
It opens tonight, then freedom!

You guys may get sick of looking at eagle shots

I live 5 miles from Higgins point at Lake Coeur d Alene. They had 400 alaskan eagles show up last year. Place is a gold mine for eagles. Salmon die and float and the eagles swoop right down, We counted 35-40 today
