Nicely timed. (Or is it due to the 14fps) :D

Oh, meant to ask, did you shoot through the fence on this shot? Or were you shooting from the dug-out area? :D

Here is another screen grab, this camera just rocks. 4k video is amazing and the screen grab feature is just sweet.

Got my 1DX2 today! Only took 6 days via 2nd day UPS! Here are a couple of ISO100 shots one is straight the other with maximum shadow push in Lightroom - done in two places- 1, under Tone and 2, under Tone Curve. Still early spring in Alaska!

You're thinking Nikon, me thinks. Canon is x1.6. :D

I wasn't calculating for a crop sensor. Both sensors in question are full frame (1Dx2 and 5Ds)
The 1.5 was converting pixels on target with a 400mm on a 5Ds vs a 600mm on a 1DX2..

1.5x is the difference between 400mm and 600mm.

...do try to keep up :)

Great image captures & compositons (with Nikonish clarity).
May I ask, what lens did you utilize for these images.
Thank you.

I checked the EXIF of the top 2 images from Gadget. They're shot at 500mm, so I'm guess he used the 500mm f/4 lens for these. I don't now which version he has, I'm assuming version 2.

Dear JWCDDS/Julian,

Thanks, that was helpful. (after I posted, I realized that EXIF info was available - oops, sorry); 500f4 mkII.

Reason I asked - I'm at a bit of a crossroads, in future scoping for when the technological-timing/product life cycle is right for: Canon (5DmkIII 2x replacement) vs Nikon(D810 replacement, or D5) and Sony (a7Rii or replacement for travel). I came from Nikon ten years ago, to the then Canon 1DmkIII for its faster FPS (than Nikon) with a Canon 500f4.

Thanks again.

Mary
P.S. You live in a fun part of the world - Santa Monica, CA!
