I would imagine that if Ansel Adams came back today he would still manage to take better landscape photos with his dated equipment than you could ever hope to take with your new fangled 1DX2 .....
Show a bit of respect for one of the pioneers of our hobby rather scoffing at the comments of people who appreciate a great photographer....

The point that cyberdyne and umphoto were making was that Ansel was using the best tools at his time, so assertions that he (or himself incarnate) wouldn't be using a high end camera now if he were alive today are moot.

Confirmed. Mine will be here Tuesday. Shipped today from Amazon. B&H seems to be getting them on the 6th now. This is according to a worker over the phone so not sure how true.

Interesting, when did you order on Amazon vs B&H? B&H has changed its ship time to not being available, while Adorama still indicates a 5/1 ship date and I wonder if that will change.

I ordered from B&H first on Feb 2nd then ordered from Amazon on the 2nd also after placing B&H pre-order. I assumed Amazon would be later then B&H but not in this case. I also have a seperate order at B&H for a battery which I ordered on Feb 3rd, no update on that.

Just out playing today with the kids so all jpeg straight out of camera

First is 12800 ISO not through glass and second is 25600 through glass but both straight out of camera as jpeg at base settings,must admit the RAW's are incredible to work with.

Impressive...... Looking forward to seeing more..

One more at ISO 10000 but again through glass but can view full res and if you scroll left on the images you can also view the other two at 100%

Maybe it doesn't show 170 but because write speed is so fast, it keeps clearing until the write speed finally becomes an issue.

That works fine for me.

That could be true, yesterday I used it more extensively and had more opportunities to burst and I never hit a buffer.

Certainly it's looking good so far for sure.

I read on another forum that B&H has a total of 1500 preorders. I am not sure if that is high or low for this class of cameras, but that does represent $9m in revenue.

You will need to wait for the next Digital Raw Compatibility Update for OS X. They're usually not far behind the curve.
