I sneaked this into the playground when I picked up my daughter after school. Trying out the different AF pt combinations. I was a little bit disappointed because for whatever reason, the camera didn't exactly have the highest hit rate in this scenario - it wasn't bad but was hoping for higher. My daughter was jumping off the platform and I was trying to pick her up just as she leap. Lens was the 35L II. It is better than the 7D2, which I traded in when I got this camera, but honestly, if the 7D2 had no AA filter, it might be the best value Canon Camera - I think this is one of the reasons the D500 is the hottest camera on the market.

The more I play with the 1DxII the more I like it. I find myself shooting in Silent Highspeed mode most often - it is extremely well dampened and the sound is NOT too loud - and much better than I thought. I have been experiment with jpegs, something I NEVER used before purchasing this camera, but Fine Detail Jpeg and then setting White and Black point, for a bit more contrast, usually makes for a great fast solution.

Shooting a post wedding / party event this Saturday in a dark club environment- so my first 1DX-II event is upcoming - the 35L II will get most of the action so I'm practicing to get a feel for the setup I want to use. Usually I shoot raw + raw but I think I will give jpeg + raw a chance, start with the jpegs and go to the raw if I need it.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

@Dankata

Very nice picture, as well as the other that you have posted previously.

Question though, on that last photo you have posted, in an indoor location like that, why do you have to do an "HSS"? does the 200 flash sync would not get the same shot?

Thank you,
christian

Wedding day... it's a rush it's coming in and out, light is changing all the t ime, I always have it on HSS so if I need faster shutter speed I don't have to mess with the flash..

Exactly. Leave them in HSS and forget about it. All you have to do is worry about ISO to keep the shutter speed up.

I think I'll do apples to apples comparison with the 1dx, 5D Mark III, 7D, and maybe even the 1D Mark 4. It's a little bit overcast here for the next day or so but I'll have them up by tomorrow night. So far, phenomenally impressed with the 1dx Mark II. Next to the standard 1dx I believe it to be a large Improvement.

I'd like to see those.

Anyone has similar issue?

I edited a file couple days ago with PS, and the file in CFast is good.

IMAGE: http://www.pbase.com/hkfever/image/163218660/large.jpg

But today, I re-open the file direct from the CFast card, with PS and DPP4, this shows up :(

Is it the CFast card or else?

SanDisk CFast reader runs hot after 1/2 hr.

I have re-format the card with 1DX2, and finger crossed :(
