5000 ISO using 800mm, handheld. I just love the look of the files from this camera, the 1dx is a great camera also but this one tweaks it in all the right places for me.

I am still extremely happy with my purchase. Color me impressed with the shadow recovery. It may not be the best according to the studio comparisons by other review site(s). But I must say, it is QUITE GOOD and more importantly, MUCH better than previous Canons.

Changed Color Temp. Highlights -30, Shadows +100, Whites +25, Clariy +10.
No NR done.

Are you sure that +100 shadows is all you pushed in that image? That looks to me much more than what I often see with that level of push in LR with many of my shots. Your end result looks quite good though

I took the new body out to a local Wildlife Preserve this weekend and was quite pleased with it, despite less than optimal skies... :)

All shot with 100~400 V2 + 1.4x TC, handheld.

We all love the those close shots where you can see all the fine detail in a birds eye and in a feathers barbules but this is very refreshing set. Nice work.

I think it is important that POTN has a thorough understanding of how this new body functions, it's potential, and overall abilities. I am volunteering to sacrifice my time to give this new system the proper thrashing it needs, and to report all i find here, so...

who's going to give me a 1DX MkII to test? :) :) :)

The original CFast for sure has problem:
- Some files were A OK and can be edit previously.
- But then have corrupted pictures after a while.

Purchased another one and seems fine so far :)

Sandisk won't cover the warranty, as it came with Canon.
Canon don't have stock and need time to inspect the card and my corrupted pictures.
So I went out to buy another one :)

Just a quick update.

Shot another 2000 images on Sunday with no apparent lock-ups and the only thing different was i used jpeg instead of RAW.

Am sure it must be to do with the Transcend CFast card not processing data when shooting RAW images quick enough as didnt have a problem when using a CF card and RAW before i purchased the CFast card.

Will try again as soon as my Sandisk card arrives but till then i would keep clear of buying Transcend 128gb cards regardless if they are cheaper than the Sandisk equivalent.

Bummer about the C-Fast problems.
I am sure it will get ironed out eventually, but we have to remember that C-Fast is really new, where as compact flash has been around since like 1999!

For the time being, I bet no one is belly aching over the 1Dx2 NOT having Dual C-Fast cards anymore! ;) Looks like Canon may have been right to "hedge their bets" on C-Fast.

Oh my God. Crap crap crap... I just ordered one. Can't believe I just clicked the "Complete Purchase" button!

5D3, old friend, time to go to a new home

EDIT: cancelled order. I think the 1DX II is the ultimate camera, but it's too much camera for what I need. Going to wait and see what the 5D4 offers, and until then, the 80D is doing what I need. Sorry for the false alarm :(

Those devious online websites. Why must they make the Complete Purchase button so big.

Very sinister! Everywhere the cursor went, it ended up hovering over that button... nothing I could do :-)
