I have a couple things I can sell to come up with 1D X Mark ll cash...... but I still think I'll do better with my 1D IV and a 500 f/4 IS ll. Thoughts?

Those were both with a 300 f2.8 IS L MKII but do now also have some with the 500 f2.8 IS L MKII.

One other thing.

1DX MKII 1576 shots and a fair bit of in camera processing of images while playing and the battery shows 57% remaining

1DX with 994 shots and no review etc or playing around and has 70% remaining

That's great news and may save me $169 in the short term before the big event in June I am shooting. I was worried I'd need to bring at least a spare along, and, while I still will because I don't go anywhere without at least a second battery, it's good to know one should last a day of intense shooting. So never mind about saving that $169 I guess.

Grant you I'm used to the 5D3 battery performance which is no slouch and regularly gets me through a hard day of shooting without needing replacement (I have the vertical battery grip). The 1DXII battery life sounds even better. Can't wait to stress test the heck out of this thing!

PS. Just got my tracking number from Adorama!

Would think you could grab a second hand 1DX soon and in all honesty its still a bloody good camera and i still feel the 1DX MKII is more a refinement of the 1DX for video and also just letting people get images off the camera quicker with less or no PP.

By the way the 500 f4 IS L MKII is my favourite lens more so now than ever before

I was just looking over my receipt from Adorama and I'm pretty sure they are sending me a free spare LP-E19 battery with this order, alongside it being a premium kit.

Okay. Now I'm really excited!

(Edit: I called and confirmed it. Brand new LP-E19 coming my way as soon as they arrive!)

One other thing i am finding is that my presets i had developed for the 1DX with lightroom just are no good for the 1DX MK II files in any way.

Used to pull the shadows back a fair bit and also boost colour and contrast but hardly need to do anything anymore other than a very slight levels adjustment.

Seems to be a lot more detail visible in the shadow areas even without PP.

Amazing!

Got my 1DX Mark II today and the RRS B1DX-L bracket for my 1DX fits just fine. I had pre-ordered from my local camera dealer and picked it up today along with a spare battery.

Oh really? Where did you find that? I just saw the premium kit (and another 128GB CFast card I ordered separately) but no mention of a free LP-E19.
