Is it completely fubar? The joystick on my 1DX1 required a specific technique to work reliably - you had to apply even pressure on the top of the joystick with your thumb and then 'slide' it left and right. If you attempted to pivot it by applying pressure to the side of the joystick then it sometimes didn't work.

I don't know about the US, but in the UK you would be entitled to a replacement rather than a repair.

The lower toggle works perfectly. I will call CPS next week before i send it in. Maybe I did something. Who knows... dont see aything in y=the manual that would give a clue

After seeing the consistency in the RAW file error I am convinced the problem is not the CFast cards.

Hopefully this is something they can fix in firmware.

The upper toggle button is broke. will not adjust to the right. I know its the switch because I can completely control from the lower toggle switch. So, Kind of bummed about that

Bad in the same way as others have shown (corrupted rectangle), or something different? A temporal problem does sound like a different issue; what some of the other guys are describing does sound like a problem when the raw is first written to the CFast card by the camera (as opposed to an issue with a card reader at some later point).

I almost wonder if there's some sort of timing/interrupt problem with the CFast interface on the camera; such that very occasionally you get a glitch when writing data - but that's complete speculation on my part.

It does sound like a timing issue but it's odd that it always affects the same portion of the image. I don't know but it's possible that CFAST cards have a RAM buffer in front of the Flash memory to speed up writes and perhaps there's a problem in clearing the buffer. That might explain why the corrupted area is always the same size and shape.

Another possibility is fragmentation. There's an interesting article on Thom Hogan's site where he interviews the CEO of a company that recovers data from corrupted flash cards and he describes symptoms very similar to what's being seen here: http://www.dslrbodies.​com …a-recovery-interview.html

Fragmentation is only a issue on mechanical drives. It's a performance problem, not a data reliability one. Fragmentation is no longer a performance issue on flash memory or SSD's.

Further, it is highly unlikely that there is any correlation between the corrupt files and file fragmentation.

Just noticed that 1DXII has officially been added to the POTN gear list as an option to choose.

ISO 25600 1/400 F4

Due to the lighting I ended up shooting most of the show, it was a burlesque festival, at ISO 12800. But this one turned out really crisp and is a good example of what ISO 25600 can do on the 1DX2.

That has come out really well

Aehric I think that is phenomenal. I've been shooting A7Rii last three weeks and loving the DR and ISO performance but shots like yours show that
Canon is not only in the high DR/ISO game but at 14 fps. I'd add AF and tracking to my comparison matrix but we've been playing with a Sony a6300
and its AF-tracking is nothing to sneeze at but really that's apples to kumquats.

I have to say, I'm not typically a spray and pray sort of shooter, but I liken burlesque in the dark essentially the equivalent to shooting high action sports in the rain for complexity. Everything is so fast, and the lighting is so poor, with multi color stage lighting and so many hot spots and shadows quickly intermixing, that you just have to set your ISO pretty high, set to F4 and modulate the shutter speed. I was shooting from 1/400 to 1/1000 and still getting blur on occasion. They just move darn quick. But the results are worth it and the 1DX2 is a monster of a camera. It just gets shots that a 5D3 flat misses. Trust me, I know.
