I'm heading up to Washington DC tomorrow through next Thursday. I'm on the staff photography team for a major rally over 4 days and then taking an actual, gasp, vacation for a few days with my partner. I'll post some shots here if/when I get some good ones to share. :-D

Going to stress test this beast out once again. I've seen what it can do in the dark. Now to see what it can do in the rain.

My wife really wants to go to Washington one day. She is interested in American politics. Washington Week and Face the Nation are her two favourite shows. Not for that but the history. We really liked Boston.

I have a wedding in Washington DC on August 20th. I will stay there for a week, probably drive to NYC as my 1DX2 will want more action

Local Canon CPS just called:
1. They aware the corrupted film (JPG & RAW) issue.
2. They can't figure out what cause this corruption yet.
3. They will exchange a new CFast card at this moment.
4. They will send my corrupted files to Japan for further testing (Japan awared this issue).
5. They are pretty sure not the camera problem.

Progress.
Thank you for the important update!

I am pretty sure the quality of the CFast card does affect the corrupt images issue:
- Canon has my card for over 7 days now, still can't figure out what's going on :(

1. Original Sandisk 128 card came with camera has more corrupted files:
- corrupted file at lower right corner
- file being chopped up
- files that can't be open,
- files OK to open at the first place but corrupted afterward.

2. Second 128 card that I bought only has 1 file was OK to open at the first place but corrupted afterward. And the rest 500+ files are A OKKKKK :)

I found the thread from POTN here on http://www.dpreview.com …age=2#forum-post-57854803 (external link) (where I started a thread on corrupt images in the lower right hand corner).

I have the same issue too with the 1DX II and the CFast card (that came bundled with camera), so it seems that this issue is pretty consistent (though not sure what percentage of users are experiencing it).

CPS called this morning and ask me to bring in the card reader tomorrow for:
- Replacement new CFast card.
- Replacement new card reader.

With my new purchased SanDisk 128 CFast card, I have 2 new files were read OK in PS yesterday but corrupted when I try to re-open them with my brand new iMac tonight :(

3 files out of 500+, ok at the first place, but turned bad afterward :(

I'm been following this thread because.... well, I can afford to read the thread. It's the right price. ;)

I'm sure Canon will figure this out. It's annoying, I'm sure: spending 1DX Mark ll money and having some initial problems. Early adapters seem to pave the way. As always, being on the bleeding edge of technology (or pretty much anything else) usually involves some pain on some level.

In my case, I'll probably have to wait until the ID X Mark lll comes out before I'll be able to afford a 1D X Mark ll. ;)

At this point, maybe a 5D4 would make sense for me, but frankly between the 6D and the 7D2, I've got more than enough capabilities in my bodies. Right now, the only things I need are on the lens front. The 3 lenses that I would like are the 500 II, the 11-24 and the canon fisheye zoom. That will pretty much seal the deal for me.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

6D and the 7D2 are perfect complimentary pair. It's what i've got and with those two
sold the 5Diii.

Why did you sell the 5D2 for the 6D?
