The photo was shot with a 600mm, and the crop was minima(<10%). The autofocus is noticeably better (especially with birds flying towards the camera) using both the 600mm & 100-400 ii.

UPDATE

Canon is replacing some parts in the new camera for the upper multi controller switch that would not adjust up. They said I would have my body back tomorrow.

Really blown away with our CPS membership benefits. CpS sent me overnight lables and I mailed Tuesday at 1:00PM from fed ex office. I got the email yesterday at 11:00AM...said it was being fixed and I should have back by Friday

Now thats service......and CPS platinum pays for shipping both ways.....AWESOME BENEFIT

lastly, disappointed with the rep I had on the phone at 1-800-okcanon

the initial letter said they cleaned the multi function switch and it was back to working order... I was concerned because I thought It was wrong so I called because it was not dirty and was only exposed to some raindrops at Saturdays wedding and thats when it acted up. Did water cause this to happen....The rep I spoke with said yes water can make this happen.....I was shocked as my 5D3 has got a lot more wet than the few drops that hit the back of the camera on Saturday.....wasnt buying this and asked to speak to an actual CPS rep.....that wasnt going to happen. Said I would have to go through him.

The Rep said no camera is completely waterproof and that we should still take reasonable precautions to keep water off the the new body.....So when I told him about the Ads showing the body full of mud and shooting in the rain and how canon advertises about the new weather sealing.....the line went very silent...............So Watch your bodies in the rain is what he is saying.....not so sure im buying this.

Kind of concerned about his remarks. I think he if full of crapola.

FYI

On a new camera that costs $6k that broke within a month of it's release, they should pay for expedited shipping both ways, CPS platinum or not.

Beautiful Bluebird.
I did watch a couple of Bluebirds run off a nesting set of Tree Swallows, and to think
everyone feels sorry for the Bluebirds

Quick one from tonight's VIP party at the rally I'm shooting in DC. Bill Nye and the Amazing James Randy. Unedited, small jpeg, so we could send them off quickly for the organization's social media, with bounce flash off a wall from camera in a dark, blue and red lit, room. ETTL flash with auto white balance. 1/250 F/4 I don't recall the ISO but it was low somewhere in the 640-800 range.

I saved the RAWs to the other card for later, proper, editing.

Not sure if the exif will show up, but I added what I could recall. I saved this off of Facebook because I've already put my laptop away for the night. Have to be up at 5:45 to start again.

Have I mentioned I love this camera lately? Because I do.

Yeah, Lawrence Krauss. Who is super nice by the way. Also, not a scientist, but got a nice one of John Delancey, Q from Star Trek, as well. A member of Wu-Tang clan I can't recall the name of to save my life. Penn Jilette of Penn and Teller. Also a super nice guy. And quite a few others.

I will share some photos when I can. For now, I must sleep.
