Sorry for the confusion, I meant compact flash. I have only been using the 64gb cfast and 128 cfast so far, I popped in a Compact flash last night. No issues with either.

Yeah, Lawrence Krauss. Who is super nice by the way. Also, not a scientist, but got a nice one of John Delancey, Q from Star Trek, as well. A member of Wu-Tang clan I can't recall the name of to save my life. Penn Jilette of Penn and Teller. Also a super nice guy. And quite a few others.

Sunset with new CFast and Reader from Canon

The corrupt files just came back
I am sure it is between the Card Reader, USB port and Mac (I have tried in multi old, new Macs with USB2.0, USB3.0)
Both files are the last file of both CFast cards.

This is a good file that I copied it from the CFast to Mac yesterday, which is still OK in Mac:

So, they are OK when they were written in 2 CFast cards from the camera in the first place.

But corrupted after multi read from Reader WHY??????

Strange indeed. So it seems, for your particular case at least, the writing to the CFast card from the camera is fine. (Because you can upload it to the computer and the file remains fine.) It's just that if you repeatedly try to read direct from the CFast card through the reader, that somehow seems to corrupt the file/image.

So the reader is somehow corrupting the file.

(Way to go, Sandisk.)

It happened with original CFast Card + original Reader.
It happenes with my own CFast Card.
It happenes with Canon replaced CFast Card + replaced Reader.

Any other brand for reader?

I don't know which brand reader to recommend. I'm using the Sandisk supplied in the Premium Kit as well. I just don't repeatedly read from the CFast card using the reader. I download/upload everything into my computer harddrive and work from there and format the CFast card and start fresh again. Could be why I haven't seen image files corrupted on mine? But I don't know. Your situation could be limited strictly to you (on how you frequently access the CFast card via the reader and/or combination of hardware) and other people's corrupted image case could be other reasons.

At least from your most recent report, the camera does not appear to be responsible for the image corruption.

I suppose that reading the file may result in the last accessed time being written, though that would be the filesystem metadata. Exactly what data is on what block on the card, and any wear levelling or flash management the card's controller does isn't known though, so it's not impossible that just accessing the card could cause changes to the underlying flash blocks, and there's some rare issue that causes data corruption.

Took a few a the Edmonton Pride Parade today. Harsh light but the old dust pump seemed to bond with the new camera. No problems with image corruption, use a Lexar CFast card and reader.

Just curious, but is anyone seeing corruption on PCs?

I'm on a Win10 PC and it hasn't corrupted a single file... I'm using the kit reader and 64GB card.

Just another variable to consider.

I am terribly sorry to ask tis question if it's been discussed before - I'm a brand new 1dx mkII owner and I am having a terrible time getting my raw files into lightroom.

Updated LR and PS to the latest versions. The raw file "loads" into the computer, but the moment I eject the CfAst card from the comp the files become corrupted. "The original source cannot be found"

Any tips or advice?
