I am terribly sorry to ask tis question if it's been discussed before - I'm a brand new 1dx mkII owner and I am having a terrible time getting my raw files into lightroom.

Updated LR and PS to the latest versions. The raw file "loads" into the computer, but the moment I eject the CfAst card from the comp the files become corrupted. "The original source cannot be found"

Any tips or advice?

Do go back and read the last few pages in this thread, (in fact, look up at this very page, starting at the top) look for posts by HKFEVER and others, there appears to be issues with CFAST raw files, manifesting in VERY strange behavior. I don't think we can offer a solution, but you are not alone.

Please clarify for me, you are copying the RAW files to your computer? Or opening the RAW files in LR directly from the CFAST card?

I'm on a Win10 PC and it hasn't corrupted a single file... I'm using the kit reader and 64GB card.

Basically I am using the supplied 64GB Sandisk card and the supplied card reader. Card into reader, uploading directly to LR.

Are you selecting copy when importing? If you aren't then Lightroom is not copying the files to a new destination (hard drive/ other desired area).

I will try on Win10 later on next week.

Tc202 I literally JUST figured this out! Went back and slowed down, took the time and realized that it was on "ADD" as the default instead of COPY.

Gah!

Yeah. CFast card seems to act differently than a typical CF/SD memory card. The computer seems to want to recognize it as an independent drive instead. So the first time you try to import via LR, it'll want you to ADD instead of COPY. Took me about 15 minutes racking my brains out before I realized what was going on. Fortunately, you only have to click "Copy" once and it'll remember to copy in the future.

Tell me if my 'system' will work.
I always make a folder on the desktop.
Insert card....open the folder, select all an drag into the folder on the desktop.
Then I'll either import into LR or view via Bridge.
I then work up the images I want to keep.
Then move the folder to an external hard drive.
I realize with this approach no true cataloging with LR.

I ask because only today did I put the CFast into the 1DXii.

That's interesting. I haven't tried connecting a CFast card to my Mac yet but if OSX is treating it like a drive instead of a card then that might explain why it's being written to and hence why some files are occasionally being corrupted. If you've ever connected a drive that's been connected to a Mac to a Windows machine, you'll see a load of hidden OSX files to do with Spotlight indexing and the trash.
