BUT, since there's dual-pixel AF via liveview... if the situation allows for it, the AF is bang-on accurate. ![]() Tnx good to know!! is the liveview fast enough for tracking walking people in a wedding? It would be awesome if I could pull shots @1.2 and not have to go to F2 for safety.

I would say it is possible but it would need practice for the technique of keeping focus tracking, possibly with a combo of using your left hand on the touch screen if the camera lost the face, and for sure, given the DoF at F1.2, and the fact that the lens isn't perfect at F1.2, then I would say that as long as you are at a shooting distance to give you full body portraits (15-20 feet) and thus giving you about 1/2 a foot in front of the focus plane of critical DoF, then it could work with practice. The alternative would be to shoot in Movie 60fps 4k video mode, and use a high frame rate (1/400 - 1/500) to get crisp pictures from 8mpix frame grabs - I think this would work with the 50L for sure. Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

umphotography grabbing their Johnson More info | Jun 08, 2016 08:23 | #1258 A little HS Senior session last night. 135L for both shots. The 135 really shines on this 1Dx2. As most of you know, it need shutter speed for optimal performance. The 1/250 gate speed and ISO performance works really well with this lens. And of course the AF just does not miss. Love the camera. Image hosted by forum (797603) © umphotography [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.
