Played with the 400DOii yesterday, this morning a cardinal with the 500...just making sure everything works

I guess I could have added works with the 1.4TC and no MFA needed.
But couldn't that change with distance to subject? I don't think so but am
not 100 percent sure. I can see variability with something like the 100-400ii
but not with a fixed FL.

It can. But for the most part, one just dials in a "sweet spot" and it's "close enough" everywhere else. It tends to be pretty damn close all across the distances.

Well I'm happy because (at least to my eye) neither of my big whites need any MFA.
I've always contended that if we spend that much mulla it should be right; further that MFA
exists for things like trauma (as in taking a fall with the kit) and consequent OOF shots.
So if I'm way off base just remember amateur hobbyist spending my time imaging versus
hanging out in a bar chasing floozies

If you MFA at the short and long ends and look at EXIF data later the camera compensates MFA if you shot at a focal lengths between 100-400mm.

In the last conversation at FM the author of Dot Tune does it at infinity.

Here is a very good explanation about distances to MFA at. The distance you normally shoot at is the best but is usually not practical in the real world unless you shoot in a studio and always at the same distance. My biggest beef about MFA from day 1 was that distance information was all over the place, including from Canon but I settled on this.

Just wanted to report that Tether Capture now works with the 1DX_II on the 'new' faster lightroom - should anyone care - and it was faster on the 5DSR so I think they have improved this area - at least a little in terms of speed.

I have been pondering the corrupt file issue with the 1DX Mark II and was wondering if the corruption happens when shooting RAW solely to the CFast card, or only when shooting Raw to the CFast while simultaneously shooting jpeg to the CF card?

I always have 2 cards in the camera.
Tried with Raw on CFast, JPG on CF
Tried with raw on both card.
Tried with Raw + JPG on both card.
It happens only on CFast card.

Unless camera has try to write something when I plug in the cards.
I tried turn off before plug and pull the card, tried plug and pull before turn off the camera, same same.

Most likely not cause by camera.

This was converted from the good copy raw file initially (Jun-08) in the CFast card which I have copied it to my Mac's HD:

Maybe I missed a post about the corruption issue...

Is this happening when imported to Lightroom as Copy or move (or both)

And

The comments saying it is fine one minute and then bad the next when it is already imported into Lightroom or when you go back to the CFFast card or corrupted in both places?
