Strange though that it's been working fine with all my other lenses and even covering an airshow but the moment I shoot constant bursts of 3-5 frames over a period of time with large primes it bricks.

Can't reproduce it just shooting static items but head on with bikes it does it fairly regular but not all of the time.

Have tried CF and CFast now and even different types and also cleaned the lens contacts etc so just need another bike meeting in a few weeks time to try and reproduce and then video the fault.

You hear the mirror lock up and can see the A/F point fade away in the viewfinder along with all other info and just the rear and top displays stay on regardless of the power switch.

Have still only found three other posts with the identical issue and all have been sports shooters one of which had both his bodies with the same fault along with a getty images photographer experiencing the same issue while using big primes.

I had the same thing happen with my 300 f2.8 ii when photographing a head on shot of my friend's son doing long jump at his school's track and field event.

I was/am hoping it was a one off.

Now a proud owner :-)...initial observations are the IQ is just about/nearly as good as my outgoing 1DsMk3 but the low ISO noise performance is just unbelievable...unlimited 14fps compared to 5fps+10 second write delay, is mind blowing.....not tried the AF tracking but know it will be better than my 7DMk2. Only gripe is for £5.2k those mean Canon people cannot provide a proper printed manual, but can put 20 different language quick start guides in the box...bloody ridiculous !!....oh it would have been nice if the sensor was a 1.3x crop :-)

Canon needs to take care of this issue with C fast.
I don't recall a flagship camera with as many posts highlighting a problem. (Well maybe the autofocus issue with the 1D MKIII.)
I've been considering purchasing one but for now I'm enjoying my 5DSR, so I'll wait.

I'd like to start posting sample images to these boards - but I notice very few watermarks on images. I always do a small discrete one, but is that a faux pas of sorts on here?

I don't think there are any rules on watermarking. You can make the watermark as big/small as you see fit. Just larger watermarks tend to ruin the image (but I understand why some people do it since the internet allows for folks to steal images and use them without your permission/compensation.

Yes, I saw 2 raw in CF were good, but turn bad afterward (after I plugged in the CFast that contains those 2 corrupted raw files, the same raw in CF got corrupted too).

That's why I ask Canon "will the camera sync between CF and CFast?"

Are you SURE that the card you were reading was the CF card? Often when the camera is set up to read a single card in slot, if you plug in a second card it will automatically change the read path to the freshly inserted card.

If you were writing to two cards, it might be hard to notice that the camera has switched the read source to the C-Fast (grabbing at straws, but thus far you appear to be the only one that has corrupted files on CF)

Not at all, it's personal preference.

Owning a 1Div I understand the 1.3 wish :) One reason to keep the 1Div I think
or the 7Dii....I don't need both :( Hoping Poof (better half) will embrace one or the
other. I'll give her a couple of months then do the right thing and get one off the
shelf.
I've yet to read any camera manual every and I guess is shows over and over again.
But in a way reading the forums/threads is kinda like ready the manual isn't it :)

The lack of manual is just a bit of a rant....but it is a complex beast and I find them a useful reference when out and about...the QuickStart guide is printed on toilet paper and won't last 5 secs...just a real cheap shot by Canon for their flagship product. Have managed to put the manual on my iPhone so that will help. Wouldn't be without my 7D2 now...that extra reach is invaluable and the IQ is excellent too...just a bit temperamental.

most all the problems with corrupt files I've seen (myself included) have been with using the SanDisk 64 gb card that was included with the "premium pkg" deal that came the camera...I haven't had a single problem so far with corrupted files since I bought a SanDisk 128 gb card...
