Thank you very much, and for the link.

I use both the Sandisk included and this Lexar bellow that I found for $150 used. Both work without any problems.

Are you SURE that the card you were reading was the CF card? Often when the camera is set up to read a single card in slot, if you plug in a second card it will automatically change the read path to the freshly inserted card.

If you were writing to two cards, it might be hard to notice that the camera has switched the read source to the C-Fast (grabbing at straws, but thus far you appear to be the only one that has corrupted files on CF)

1DXII won't change the read to the freshly inserted card. It will continue read the last available card.

most all the problems with corrupt files I've seen (myself included) have been with using the SanDisk 64 gb card that was included with the "premium pkg" deal that came the camera...I haven't had a single problem so far with corrupted files since I bought a SanDisk 128 gb card...
http://www.adorama.com/IDSCF2EP128G.html (external link)

I have the worst corruption with Sandisk 128GB CFast that came with camera.

The Canon replacement Sandisk 128GB is a little bit better than the original card, at less don't have the ? marked file.

1 corrupted with Sandisk 128GB that I purchased later on.

So far so good with Lexar 3600X 128GB with its reader that purchased from B&H.

at least you got a 128gb CFast card that came with the camera. ours is only 64gb.

(but I'm using a 256gb one that i bought separately so doesn't matter to me, i suppose).

So you are into 4K video?

I only tried 2 4K recording with the max. frame rate. They are still OK in the previous CFast card :)

 not really. But I figured why not. I've come this far to get a camera that can do it, why cheap out on the memory card now.

Sorry more Bluebirds but they are my favorite songbird. The single male shot is a 4K screen grab, sooc except for a crop to make it a 16 x 24. All of the shots can be seen larger on flickr.

I have been using the 64gb cfast and additional 128gb cfast cards with no issues so far. Also I have seen a few post with lock up issues with larger lens, I am using the 800mm and 200-400mm with out issue so far. I have done 4k, HD and still work with both bodies with switching back and forth on the same card etc, so far so good. I did have one lock up when I unplug my external monitor from the camera with out shutting off first, this did cause a look up. Normally I always power down the monitor first, so I believe this was my error not the cameras. This happened the 2nd day I owned it, since then all is good.

Only gripe is for £5.2k those mean Canon people cannot provide a proper printed manual, but can put 20 different language quick start guides in the box...

Over on DPReview, another (early) UK owner said he didn't get a manual either but a subsequent UK owner said there was a full English manual with his. Could it be an oversight on the first bodies to be shipped to the UK?

I'd like to start posting sample images to these boards - but I notice very few watermarks on images. I always do a small discrete one, but is that a faux pas of sorts on here?

Since the camera is so new there are lots of people posting random test shots and with those shots there is a very low likelihood that the images will be stolen. You'll notice that the more professional looking images do have watermarks included.

Wow it looks like you just proved that the 1Dx2 is on heck of a landscape camera as well. Great stuff

Best overall camera on the market right now. The Camera does amazing stuff. I have not even scratched the surface on this thing yet. MY Mind continually is blown when I shoot with this thing. Never have i had a camera with this good of an AF system.

Here is my wildlife video setup with the 800mm and 1Dx Mark II, loving the improved video features.
