I have a Canon 50D, and don’t like the way when I push the button to change ISO all metering information disappears and when I roll a dial to change the ISO there is no way to reference how the changes impact the exposure.
I have learned that with the Canon 70D and 7DMII / 7DM2 / 7DM11 and newer or better cameras you can program the camera so that when you push the SET button in the middle of the rear dial and then spin the rear dial you change ISO while metering is live. So if you are in Manual / 125 / 5.6 you can roll the ISO until the exposure needle is where you want it.
I want to research how Nikon cameras deal with changing ISO while metering is live. What APS-C camera model and above or after has this, how does it work, and in general how is Nikon different from or better than Canon in dealing with changing shutter, aperture, ISO, and white balance while I am walking through an industrial building with different and changing photographic requirements.
Does Nikon have a name for this? Like real time ISO? How far in Nikon model years can I go back / to save money / and still get a Canon 50D or better Nikon camera that does this? I don’t need the latest camera and don’t need video.
