Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland Coast. The southern approach is less photogenic but usually more dramatically surftastic.

Sony RX10 IV balanced on a rock with a cheap ten stop ND (enough for movement shots like this but not quite enough to smooth things properly when your diffraction limit is f8, going to have to start carrying a 13 or 16 as well for proper long exposure work)

Annie you take beautiful photos of lovely and interesting subjects.

I just checked your Applecross Flickr photos :-). Amazing scenery and beautifully photographed.
You certainly live in a special place.

Thanks, Richard, I certainly am lucky to have been born and brought up here. I always knew I would return when older - which I have now done. Since Covid, most of the photos have been taken from within walking distance from my house.

One from Saturday last.
Typical east-coast beach in the middle of winter in New Zealand - huge and deserted!

Visible from much of the Eastern Bay of Plenty coast, Moutohorā (Whale Island) is home to some of New Zealand’s endangered birds and plants, and is one of the country’s most protected wildlife sanctuaries.

Chris, Older doesn't hang around and ask if that's what we want.
Somehow it happens :-P
