went over to check on my local osprey nest this afternoon, it appears the female is sitting on eggs; she stayed in the nest and rarely moved. not much osprey action at all, so i walked around looking for other targets and came across this little guy perched on a twig by the river... he must have a nest somewhere nearby, as he kept returning to the same area, even as i approached within 20-25 feet... i would have preferred more subdued lighting for this little guy, as the bright sun made the contrast pretty harsh, but when i get a chance to walk up and shoot a hummer from 20' away, i'm gonna take it!
