Large sensor Nikon mirrorless camera

The rumors so far are suggesting that a new Nikon mirrorless camera with a "larger sensor" will be introduced at Photokina in September.

'large' probably simply means FF size rather than the P&S or CX format (13.2mm x 8.8mm) size....heck 'large' might even mean DX format size!

Given the fact that Nikon sources sensors from Sony, it would be interesting if Sony sells FF sensors to Nikon that are turned into directly competitive mirrorless offerings...might be more of a money maker for Sony's semiconductor business than Sony's own camera business. Certainly would go hand in hand with Sony's repeatedly proven corporate tendency to not provide 'system' products, but to provide point products to the market, with short lived support by the corporation. I just threw away a Sony digital movie camera because its built-in battery life gave out and no battery refit was possible; I threw away a Sony noise cancelling headset because I could not buy the cheap rubber earpiece which got lost on one airplane trip.

I believe Sony sensor production isn't going to up and running until August 2016 because of the earthquake. That wouldn't give Nikon much time to get it into a new camera. Maybe they've found another source for their sensors...
