C&C welcome, this was my first time shooting fitness/bodybuilding. I don't often shoot people, and when I do it's primarily at weddings, so these were far outside my comfort zone.

I like the first one, although I would try to dial back the green on the equipment in the background.

The second one just looks too "professional wrestling" to me because of the chain...

Just shut up and smile...

Yes. The lime green to the right in the image really pops. And behind his right arm. And draws attention away. The electric light behind his head and to the right is bad. His head should be somewhere away from the electric lights. There is a white and orange thing in the background that does not fit to me in that room. It looks like a sailboat sail. I keep wondering what that is. I like the dark background, except for the green. I like the weights in the foreground. I like that the color of the shorts is not anywhere else.

Does anyone think his chest and shorts are blownout to much? Is it me? I feel there should be more color. I feel the highlights in the chest and shorts go to far white. Maybe that is what the photographer was going for. And feels like too much dark to me on the chest and right arm. Maybe reduce the exposure and saturation in the background, and reduce the contrast on the body. Bring the shadows more up. Bring the highlights more down.

honestly, I really like the green there. It's supposed to be an environmental shot, and that gym is very colorful. I thought it gave the image some pop.

I completely agree on the light through his head. I tried taking it out, but couldn't get it to look natural. I shot some later (I think immediately after this image) with the lights turned off, but then the ceiling just went black and flat.

I also agree his chest is blown out a bit. The white and orange in the back is a design painted on the wall reflected in the mirror.

I do love the green equipment, red wall, and blue shorts. But wonder if the florescent green of the one on our far right should be knocked down to be similar to be like the green of the one on our far left.

I think the first one, cropped portrait and a touch of vignette (barely any) would help.
The second one...yikes! I could only do that with a plastic chain!!
