Does anyone have a problem with their Tamron 85mm 1.8 VC?

I took delivery of this lens a week ago but I'm sending it back.

The lens itself when correctly exposed pulls out rendering extremely similar to the 85L ii with zero fringing in the OOF highlights - but the difference in metered exposure is massive across the other Canon 85's.

Attached is an example, Canon 5DSr on a tripod, all I did was change lenses. The ISO was set at 100, AV mode at F2, the camera did the rest with the metering mode not making any difference (Average or centre weighted).

I'm really reaching out and asking other users of this lens if I had a dud or if it's just how the lens behaves. As it is currently it's unusable if it's about 1 stop out.

These are all SOOC the portrait image was taken on a blue sky day, consistent lighting and the Tamron is on the left, the 85mm USM 1.8 on the right.

It looks as though these were all natural light which of course is variable. I think you need to do a test with controlled lighting just to rule out changing light. The slightly different framing because the focal lengths are not exactly the same could also affect the metering. Just throwing that out there.

I've newer owned/used a Tamron lens but I know with the Sigma lenses I've owned (50mm and 85mm EX), they do tend to underexpose by roughly 2/3rds of a stop.

Just received this lens for new canon 6d ii the exposure meter is all over the place in video live view mode and auto ISO auto exposure not working any thoughts before I send in to tamron

Are you having issues with any other lenses?
