So I caught this shot of the 2 dogs playing together. Our old guy is fading fast. I feel like there is a lot to this "snapshot." Any thoughts on editing?

I'd try two things:

First a colour version. I'd drop the highlights a bit and bump the contrast
Second: I'd have a go at making a sepia version. I think that would work.

I was originally thinking B&W but maybe not.

Thanks... I'll play with them.

Here is some adjustments (also cropped a bit tighter).... The only thing I am not too sure about with the Sepia-"ish" version is that it's a bit tough to see the old man is a chocolate lab vs a black lab... IMO

Agree. Of the two much prefer the second one.

Until your last image, I thought they were both chocolate labs - in the first image, your young black looks the same colour as my chocolate lab . . .

Cheers, Damien

Really? I don't see that but maybe because I look at them everyday I didn't even think about that. I can see that in the sepia one, but not the first color one ?(but that may be just me)

So far, the original appear better to me than either of the edits.

The shot is very busy. You might try a tighter crop that would reduce the influence of the two chairs and the out-of-focus paws on the left.

I like the last quick edit. The couch and carpet still gives it the feeling they are still at home but the lack of the chair in the back brings the focus to the dogs. Great looking dogs!
