I just took down my winter bird feeder yesterday. I kept it going a little longer than usual because of the common redpolls which refused to leave for their more northerly summer home; the last one left April 30th. But because I kept feeding longer, I was beset also by opportunistic common grackles, red-winged black birds, and even a couple brown-headed cowbirds. The latter, at least, provided a couple of good shot opportunities.
