I have come upon a Nikon 50mm 1.4D at a very nice price. Have a bit of a problem however, and hope for some useful advice.
A Quantaray DMC-1A filter is installed and I cannot get it to move. Any experience on how to get it of?
Thanks

However, I have found that most times when filters are stuck it's because the filter has cross threaded. An easy way to remedy this is very carefully inspect the joint between filter and lens. If at one spot it seems that the gap is ever so slightly closer than the rest, gently using a knife edge, pry the two until you either hear or feel the filter jump back in the right thread. It's subtle but I have had great success using the technique. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

neacail Goldmember More info | May 05, 2016 07:06 | #6 I use silicone bakeware to remove stuck filters. I hold the bakeware (usually a cookie sheet, but sometimes a silicone oven mitt) flat against the filter, and using only downwards pressure, turn counter clockwise. I also learned a new trick recently . . . using the sole of my shoe! Press the filter into the sole of the shoe, and twist. Shelley
