From a recent editorial with Anita, whom I would be happy shooting for the rest of my life. Gear used was 1 Elinchrom D-lite in a Mola Setti with clear grid, 6D, and Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

The lighting is great but her skin looks odd.....kind of leathery. Like there is just too much texture. Is there some kind of body paint?

Beautiful shots, but I agree about the skin. Lovely color and model. #5 is my favorite -- thanks for sharing!

Nice work. Great pose and lighting, and a fantastic model.

Agree that the skin has a little too much sharpening or clarity, over-emphasizing the texture - it's distracting.

Thanks everyone. And no, I didn't change anything about her skin texture in post (other than healing and d&b). The makeup was standard for any beauty photo shoot, no body paint or anything "leathery" added to it. Her skin just has a lot of texture, plain and simple, and I left it in there instead of blurring it out. That said, as usual, the stupid compression of flickr has over sharpened them somewhat. But digging up the PSDs to redo the sharpening over and over again to get it just right to post here sounded like too much work, so it is what it is.

I've looked at these photographs a few times today. I've been mulling over the skin texture. I've decided that I really like it.

I think not smoothing her skin and working with the natural texture of it (and amplifying it, even if by accident) was a really unabashed and brazen thing to do: especially with a model who is so spectacularly gorgeous and virtually flawless (IMO). I love the juxtaposition between her skin texture and the styling of the shoot.

Well done.

Simply AMAZING. You've captured her spirit and the image talks to me. That's the end result. Good job!

Ah, now that you mention it, that's what it looks like. I've had that a few times too - looked just right on my screen, but sharing from Flickr made it all weird.
