Light Meter Question

I own the Sekonik L358 that I have no problem using in conjunction with my studio lights.

What I don't understand is whether this meter can be used without flash or strobes. Can I just hold it in front of my subject's face outdoors, for example, and get the proper reading? How do I do that?

Hi Mark,

Absolutely you can. There aren't many that can't do incident and reflected light as well.

Just select the incident light setting using the mode button (the manual can confirm exactly what is what, sorry i don't know as mine is different).

Then it works exactly like in the studio. For incident, put in infront of your subject and "click" it like you would with the strobes but with no sync required.

It operates just the same, select your shutter and it gives you your aperture.
