I have a 86" silver PLM from many years ago. I was planning to pick up another. But it is no longer listed on the website. Only the 86" white version is available. Does anyone know what happen? Is there something wrong with the silver version?

They also stop producing the on axis speedring, which is needed if you want even light spread.
I wonder why too.

I have no direct information. But, these are all things that suggest that the company is being "spruced up" so it can be sold by Paul's estate (family).

They're claiming that precise centering doesn't make much difference. However, positioning the light precisely just inside the edge of the bowl does matter, and the anti-splashback reflector matters, too.

I suspect the real reason is a matter of technical economics and possibly a small point of Buff uniqueness that Paul was anal about, but which others think is too expensive over the Westcott knockoff.
