Spent a few hours sitting quietly in a small pop-up blind on the edge of our property. I've been admiring these little guys for the past few days. I don't recall seeing them in previous years but perhaps wasn't paying much attention to the birds visiting or living in the underbrush surrounding our lot. I believe they are Lark Sparrows. They stay near the underbrush and do all their foraging at ground level. Trying out my new-to-me 300mm F4 IS.

It's funny to see what we see when we start looking for things; many of the smaller birds around here were "just birds" to me for so long
