I don't care if it is partially cloudy or what. It is precisely cloudy where sun is, and has been the same since sun rise!
So please don't swear at me for the image but come and swear with me at the clouds:(
Seems clouds are growing thicker now!
The only portion of sky that has some blue color on it, is the western side and I wont be surprise at all for the clouds to more to that side soon...

Wish you better luck.

I'm thinking you meant Mercury transit, now? Mars does not transit the sun at least as seen from Earth. :)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Well spotted and I could be very well confused by the clouds/sleeplessness excitement, but No I meant Mars. After all with all these clouds who cares about Mercury or Mar or what!:)
BTW Mercury has its own tread and I so, now that I don't see anything, I thought of starting a new thread!
I am to burn a few filters soon just for the fun of it. All invited to the party.:)

First image is just after sun rise, when, by local time, Mercury was supposed to be in lower left corner of sun, as transit has already started before sun rise in West coast.

By local ~5 minutes to 12 PMUTC, 8 AM Los Angeles time, Mercury was supposed to be in mid Sun.

Right now it is 12:44PM and NOTHING BUT CLOUDS.... :(
Next to cloudy Venous transit, I am really feeling like crying today ;(

Well this is one of my unsuccessful attempts of the event, when clouds were just thinned a tad:
Beside the cloud filter, I have a dens ND attached. All viewing though digital media.
Beside the clear 2542, I am not sure what is what and definitely can imaging even Mars somewhere in it. Guess the spot inferior to 2542 is 2543 and definitely it could be Mercury as supposedly event is over by now. With this resolution and clouds, I can't be sure of anything want to cry.

Another sad sad event day.

I definitely know how you feel. It was cloudy here for 3 out of the 4 total lunar eclipses.
