Hi All,
I'm selling my beloved Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Zoom Lens (v.1) with Original Box, Caps, Hood, Pouch, etc... I've upgraded to the v.2. I'm the original owner. Purchased Brand New at the local camera store here in Houston, TX. back in 2009. Cosmetically, I would rate the body at about an 8/10 with most of the scratches and abrasions being on the lens hood. Glass is clean and would rate that at about 9/10. I ONLY used this lens for Weddings and Events (I use primes for studio and portrait work). Wide open @ f/2.8, the lens has gotten a little soft over the years, especially at the corners. But, of course it gets sharper as you stop down to f/5.6 or more and is just like any other lens on the market. I've used micro-adjustments techniques on my camera to keep it decently sharp wide open at f/2.8. I would say that it's time for it to go into Canon to be re-calibrated, which is why the price is far below used market value, that and it just sits in my closet. $650 to PayPal and Ship.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE PRICE REFLECTS THE SOFTNESS OF THE LENS AND IT NEEDS TO BE RE-CALIBRATED. NO, THIS IS NOT DUE TO THE LENS BEING DROPPED OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE LENS IS NEARLY 8 YEARS OLD AND SOME LENSES LOSE THEIR SHARPNESS OVER THE YEARS AND NEED TO BE RE-CALIBRATED.....

I have owned some ancient lenses over the years. And have never once felt that it was any less sharp than the date of manufacture.

Either way, GLWS

I too have being shooting for nearly 30 years..... Some glass maintain their sharpness, others you have to have re-calibrated after a number of years, zooms especially over primes. This is the second lens that I have ever had to have re-calibrated in 30 years of business. I guess consider your self lucky.....
