Hi everyone,

I made it out for the transit yesterday at our local observatory. I built a filter with a piece of visual Mylar and a cardboard Gatorade container. Early on in the morning people saw a plane pass in front of the sun so immediately after I checked the sky to see if another one might do the same thing. I lucked out and only one more crossed in front. There were some heat issues from a building across the parking lot and some clouds rolled by but all in all it was a great day.

I'm hoping to make a composite image with mercury moving in a dotted line across the sun. I was taking images every 6min (it moved its own diameter every ~3min roughly).

Edit: Here is one with less heat distortion.

Very-Very nice !!
Look forward to your composite. I also shot with that in mind but likely will never get it done. :(
