Seems like a solid step toward customer satisfaction.

.

For those interested in seeing what Adobe says, but who don't want to click on the link and leave the forum, here is the message from the Adobe website:

Update on Creative Cloud Trials

Adobe provides free trial periods for Creative Cloud in order to allow individuals to download, evaluate and try Creative Cloud before deciding to become a Creative Cloud member. In order to ensure that trial lengths align more accurately with how trials are being used, we are making some adjustments to the program.

Beginning May 9th, 2016 the length of the trial period for Creative Cloud will be standardized worldwide to 7 days.

Individuals currently evaluating Creative Cloud via a trial will not be impacted.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

They made that change here last week. I downloaded the In Design trial last wednsday and was surprised to see it was only seven days. With the complexity of these programs it's not a lot of time to figure things out.

Grab Shotgun, Point at foot, and pull trigger!!! Adobe will learn it takes even more than a month to really understand what the software can do. Anyone in trial for first use of Lightroom or Photoshop will definitely never purchase. I love the software and have taken several classes to learn what it can do and how to use it. I doubt you can get much of an idea of what it can do in a week.

2 sides to every coin. After 2-3 days of using LR I knew I'd buy it.

PS on the other hand and some of the other programs would take longer but if you need it, 7 days is enough to realize you need it or not IMO.

Do you know this for a fact or are you speculating?

Adobe executive management must have seen the need to offset a decline in sales, so the order was put out to put into place sales programs to accomplish the sales decline offset.
Some Marketing 'genius' (I use that term facetiously, as Adobe's past track record about new software licensing put into place -- with a thud in buyer reception to the program -- has a history of thuds) decided to increase sales simply by decreasing the trial period duration.

I still think Adobe should offer a "Lease to Buy" plan. Hassling with a 30-day trial just doesn't attract me...

Allegorithmic does this with their Substance Painter/Designer/Bitmap2Material (i.e. Substance Live) programs. $20 for 16 months (pay more if you wish). After that you own the license. Much more acceptable than Adobe's pay-for-the-rest-of-your-life bit.

+1 to this. At the least, Adobe's subscription should leave you with whatever you have FULLY functional after, say a two year subscription ($240 will have changed hands). Right now, that is not the case. So they have you by the short hairs over your ~50k photo collection for the rest of your life. I cannot get myself to pull the trigger on this deal.

And they will be raising prices, too easy to pass this up. Not by a lot, at first, a dollar here and a euro there.

I don't think this is the case. The Creative Suite has been selling like hot cakes (external link) , adding around 1 million subscribers per quarter.
