Are we ever going to get an advance point n shoot camera like the G-16 but waterproof? I just can't believe we still have so few options. It wouldn't need to be for scuba levels but anything from hard-pouring rain, swimming pools or out in a kayak. Housings might be great for scuba with neoprene gloves but seem to be way too bulky for general fun photography.

Any thoughts if we'll ever see more options or is Nikon's 1AW-1 it?

It's interesting, because I've seen a lot of ads for the Samsung Galaxy S7 "edge" phone, it's water-resistant, but I don't know the extent of its being water proof (like for diving). The phone is getting touted as good resistant, although it's only "specced" for submerging at 1.5 meters/yards for 30 minutes.

It's an Android phone, although Apple is coming out (or has come out) with it's own water-reistant phone.

It will be interesting to see how these phones perform doing under-water photography!
