I met up with sandwedge in the park in my neighborhood, gave a shout out to all the neighbors on two of our neighborhood Facebook groups that we were out in the park with my telescope if anyone wanted to come take a look at the transit with their own eyes. We got a good half dozen folks show up and loads more expressing sadness that they missed out. So I will be hosting a star party in the park later this summer. We got some good sun (on the skin) and some good photos too.

Here is the final version of my first edit. It was shot with my Sony mirrorless, prime focus is where you attach the camera where the eyepiece normally goes. This was shot at ISO 100 and 1/125s. I've added a slight yellow tint using a photo filter in PS and it seems most people prefer that to the out of camera colors. I assumed most people expected a little yellow in the sun, and that seems to be true. Also labeled are the active regions that were visible during the transit. I wish there was more active on the surface of the sun, but you get what you get. I'll probably keep an eye on the solar weather and when we have some spectacular activity going on get another photo with some massive sunspots. As always, C&C is welcome. Enjoy. (Note: this was not shot with the lens listed in the metadata, but a lens is required in order to add the image to my gallery. The telescope was the "lens".)
