I attempted to take on Greece with just my Sony a7II and Sony 28mm f/2 lens (with a 21mm converter).

I have to say, it was definitely nice to not have to think about switching out lenses, though I did have gear FOMO at times (fear of missing out). I don't know if I'll ever do it again simply because looking at the photos, I kinda wish I had a bit more reach in some areas.

Also, I'm aware of some of the highlights in the clouds and didn't correct any perspectives in the structures... I already got chewed out for that on dpreview haha.

Great photos. We are headed on a similar itinerary next month and hope to capture memories as well as you have. Looking forward to reading the report on your link this evening.

Just read your report and saw all your posted photos. They're all great but really like the blues and whites of Santorini. How far is the hike from Oia to Fira and how strenuous is it? We will be traveling with our young kids as well and are wondering if it would be an activity they could handle.

Thanks for your kind words, Santorini really was just breathtaking any which way/direction you look. The hike lasted about a bit over 3 hours. I've read some say it takes 2.5 hours while others say 4.

It's not really strenuous but it is a long journey. I don't have kids so I might not be the best judge of how much they could handle. Physically I'm sure they'd be ok, mentally not so sure lol.

There is a town a bit more than halfway through and I recall seeing a bus stop. I'd look into that because the hike provided really amazing views.
