Hello,

I want to buy a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens, I was looking it for a while, yesterday I noticed that Amazon had a deal with 134 USD called an international version without warranty.. The regular price is 299 USD. What do you think about this can I trust this deal? I am not sure.. Thanks!

Another vote for Canon refurb. I've bought two bodies, four lenses and a flash from them, all refurbished.

Thanks for your reply, but gray market and refurbished items are different aren't they? Gray markets selling NEW items for a discounted prices and mostly giving no warranty or limited seller warranty.

What I am talking about is that, on Amazon the lens labeled as NEW for 134 USD, not labeled as refurbished.

Thanks for your reply but the item is labeled as NEW on Amazon not as refurbished is that normal? Or seller on the Amazon selling refurbished item as new one?

You are correct; they *are* different. The gray market items are new, but have no warranty, what so ever; if they break you're paying for full service. Factory refurbished items are items that have been restored to 'like new' condition, by Canon techs, and come with a 6mo warranty on them.

As far as trusting the deal, I would be sure to look closely at who it is sold by/fulfilled by. Generally, I would go with the factory refurb over a gray market item, but would go for the deal in a pinch.

Thanks, I do not live in USA, therefore a US warranty will be meaningless for me. If anything happens to lens, I can not send it to USA because the shipping cost will make it meaningless :) I think I will choose new one even if it's sold by a grey market on Amazon.
