Thanks Don.
I must say that the level of participation in this series of challenge has been kind of on the decline for some time now. It used to be rather popular. I wonder why it has lost its appeal.
I will post the next challenge, later this morning.

I used to participate a lot. Then last year I unexpectedly lost my internet connection ( a place I was staying at for a month was supposed to have internet but it didn't). As luck would have it, I won the competition that I entered just before losing the internet. So I couldn't get online to start a new competition or to judge it. I failed to meet my responsibility. I was extremely embarrassed and ashamed that I had neglected my duty. So now I just don't participate anymore, even though I would like to. There's just too much responsibility that comes along if one should happen to win.

Congrats, Sibil!
I love wildfire photos; looks like you live in a great area for them.

"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I do. The shot is from the 2009 Station fire in Southern California. The fire came within less than 100 feet from my house. We have had other wildfires in the area, but this one was the largest and the scariest of all.
Please reconsider participating. There are so many great photogs here that if they took part, my shot would have no prayer.

Looking forward to your new challenge, Sibil, and I can appreciate your wildfire situation. Here, we watched a whole mountainside flare up one night quite close to home and it was a very scary sight. So far this year, though, we've not had much heat to photograph, hence my uninspired stove shot.

Don't know why challenge entries have dwindled, because I find they are good photographic exercises despite the risk of winning and having to judge.

That's a really cool image, JW! Or perhaps "cool" is not the right descriptor?
Unfortunately, this challenge ended some weeks ago. But there are always new ones wiith different themes.

Please reconsider participating.

I'd love to participate , but this summer I am going to be on call as a wildland firefighter. At any moment, I could get a call and be gone for up to 20 days at a time. There is just too much likelihood that if I had to run a competition I would, again, fail in my duty to do so. Kinda sucks, but these challenges really only work for people who have a somewhat predictable lifestyle.
