I currently use a Domke F5XC which is fantastic. Really tough and well made, can't fault it. Bought it for use with a 5D with short tele lens attached and was great for that.

With the 1Ds3 I've now got, I've got to remove the lens to get it in the bag. When it's in, it sits wonderfully, taking up the depth of the bag and leaves enough room for a 135 sized lens sat next to it, but I do want to get something in with lens attached.

Is there another Domke bag that'd do what I'm after?

Fellow 1D and Domke F5XC user. You should look at the F3X if you're just thinking of a 1D + short zoom lens attached, as well as some other small lenses (50, 90 like in your signature) detached.

Also consider the F6 (a bit larger than F3X) or F2 (a lot larger than F3X).

I own the F5XB, J5XC and F2.

I have a F3X which I use for a single body and lens when I want to carry other stuff around as well (could be lenses or flashes, could be a jumper, hat etc. etc.).

Another option is a holster or toploader bag, which is quite handy for a single body with lens attached. Lowepro have a range of "Pro" toploader bags that are designed to fit a 1D series (or gripped 5D) body.

Cheers, Damien

I've plumped for the Domke F3 - managed to win an eBay auction last night for one in the US. Really pleased as advert says 'near new condition' and the Amazon UK listing has them for £110. I won the auction for £35 with £20 shipping.

I have a Lowepro toploader bag on its way and should be here by Saturday. I'll come back to this post when I get it and let you know how I feel about it. Good luck in your search.

Oops! I see you already made a selection. Hope it works well for you.
