1d 4 focus point ?

Is there a way to quickly switch from single point focus to multi point (45 zone af) without having to go through the menu settings ?
Lets say you are photographing a single bird on a branch or the ground when a flock of birds or single bird comes flying past and you want to quickly grab a BIF shot, is there an option to just press one selected button to change settings ?

I don't have a 1D4, but on my 1d3 all I have to do to switch from any single point to all points is press the joystick straight in. Not sure, but I think that is set up in the custom functions, somewhere.

Can't find it in the C.Fn. menus. It must be default setup to switch single point/all points with the joystick button.

I found it. C.Fn. III-9, selection 3. It is not in the manual because it was added in a firmware upgrade. #3 is all 19 points available, joystick direct selection.

It seems you need C.Fn. III-11 set to #2 for it to work as expected.

All this is for 1D3. I assume 1D4 is similar.

On the 1D4 you can set a single point on the * button. You can register all points on the AF on button and it is just a press of the buttons to make the switch.
