I'm sure some people will be all over it . . . but I consider it to be far in excess of what my needs are. -?

I don't really pay any attention to the new technologies unless I'm shopping for something new, but this seems like it is a pretty significant step forward as far a megapixels go.

Police can now snap a crowd then crop way in and pick out faces clearly. One use for super megapixel.
