As much as I absolutely hate these things when they fly at me, they are making for some great photo opportunities!

May 23, 2016 06:58 | #6 Thank you all so much for the comments, it's greatly appreciated. I was really dreading this emergence, but now I'm actually a little intrigued by them. So crazy that soon they will be back under ground not to be seen for another 17 years. I may be singing a different tune once they start the mating calls and all that noise starts lol

Their offspring will live and grow up underground, and emerge in another 17 years. Kurt

Yea, I meant to say offspring in there. We had to sweep the sidewalk here at he office this morning, so many of the shells and half eaten Cicada's. We had one customer come in earlier and one fell on her as she was coming in, that was entertaining lol.

I took a few quick shots with my phone during lunch. The tree is right by our parking lot. If you look in the sunny area of the other shot you can see lots just laying there. They have just started flying a little so it should get interesting Image hosted by forum (794724) © TammyC [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. Ohhh I am dreading that noise! They are still kinda slow at this point and no mating calls yet, but it's coming!
