In late spring and summer Purple Gallinules can been seen balancing on the stalks of the Fire Flag plants in the Florida wetlands in pursuit of those tasty flowers. It's hard for me to resist fixating on them because of their great color and also for their balancing skill and antics. I rarely photograph wildlife around man-made objects but when a Gallinule uses the walkway hand rail to avoid balancing, climbing and the chance of falling, it's worth recording.

Thanks very much everyone. Hard to take a bad shot of these colorful birds, I sure wish I had them closer to home.
